GameZone Review: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Winifred Phillips
"Can you think of any movie-based games that have a soundtrack that can compare to the film? A soundtrack that can stand on its own? It may be the first time in the history of games, but Winifred Phillips has done it. Her dreamy hypnotic themes will fill your ears with visions of sugar plums dancing in your head. There's a certain amount of peacefulness in the music. It's got a classic sound that's only found in old movies and musicals... Spellbinding music from God of War composer Winifred Phillips. Her choral creations are as complex as they are entertaining. Players of all ages will be delighted by its deep yet whimsical presentation, filling ears with soothing sounds not commonly heard in movie-based games. Expertly written, brilliantly composed."

GameSpy review: Myst IV Revelation by Jack wall
"The last point of note in Myst IV is the game's sound, which I wouldn't bother bringing up except for the fact that it's so damned good. Every Age is punctuated with sound effects that bring it to life, from the soothing sounds of running streams in Serenia to the strange wildlife found throughout Haven. Composer Jack Wall is back to compose the music, which is fairly sparse, used appropriately, and echoes the tone of previous Myst games. As he did for Uru, Peter Gabriel contributes an original song to the game, and while I won't reveal where it is, I will say that it's actually part of the game, and not just tacked on to the end credits. (In fact, I believe Gabriel actually makes a cameo voiceover, but that's something I've been unable to confirm.) I'm still partial to the title track from Myst III: Exile, but if you buy the "Collector's Edition" of Revelation (it's the only version I've seen in stores), you'll get a bonus copy of Exile as well, so you can judge for yourself."... read more, and more.

PSE2 Magazine review: Myst IV by Jack Wall
"The full orchestral musical score in Myst IV is elegant and absolutely perfect for the mood of the gameplay. Jack Wall, composer of Myst III Exile's soundtrack, and British rock artist Peter Gabriel, composed what you hear. The tunes, which feature some choral vocals, are soothing and mysterious, sometimes even downright mournful. Each age has a distinctly different musical theme to match its distinctly different appearance. The audio quality overall is exceptional."... read more.

EQ Magazine review: Hitman Contracts by Jesper Kyd
"Many have tried to turn a video game soundtrack into a musical experience. But few have succeeded in creating a coherent, satisfying listening experience as well as Jesper Kyd, who scored the video game Hitman: Contracts."

Editor's Choice Gold Award
"[Jesper Kyd] continues to grace [Eidos] games with killer soundtracks...Kyd is able to compose synth and orchestral tracks with equal skill, and Hitman: Contracts is packed with 60 minutes and 13 sterling examples of the former."

Team Xbox review: Terminator 3: Redemption
"As far as soundtracks go, Terminator 3: Redemption (by composer Cris Velasco) can hold its own with many of the officially licensed movie franchises on the market, and is easily the best part of the audio." - TeamXBOX

Game Chronicles review: Terminator 3: Redemption
"The heartbeat thumping futuristic military theme from Terminator is as much a signature to the series as the theme to Jaws, and the game captures that spirit perfectly and even manages to expand upon it with some original composition that fits the intensity and pacing of the gameplay.- Game Chronicles

Two-CD 'Headhunter' set is now available
Richard Jacques, the composer of Sega's Headhunter game series developed by Amuze, returns with the official soundtrack album release of his music from Headhunter: Redemption and the original Headhunter. Jacques' anthemic score for the original Headhunter was the first video game soundtrack to utilize historic Abbey Road Studios and record with a live symphony orchestra.

The composer's previous soundtrack album credits include the cult hit Jet Set Radio (Polydor Records) and Jet Set Radio Future (Scitron Records). Most recently, he produced tracks for an upcoming Sega/Microsoft Xbox title and is currently writing an original orchestral score for Empire Interactive's Starship Troopers, based on the Sony Pictures movie and animated franchise.

The two-CD Headhunter set is now available to order from www.lalalandrecords.com and at retailers everywhere.
